Sports Day Instructions / Rules

Entrance Fee: £2 per person (adult or child)

Venue: North Solihull Sports Centre, Conway Road, Fordbridge.

Food: Cold drinks, sweets and crisps will be on sale.

  1. Races are open to all who regularly attend Sunday School, C.Y.C., or any other meeting.

  2. The ages of the entrants, are those on the day of the event.

  3. Sunday School / C.Y.C. code letters MUST be displayed by each competitor identifying their Sunday School or C.Y.C.

  4. A Sunday School / C.Y.C. may only enter one competitor for each event.

  5. A competitor may enter ONE flat race, a maximum of TWO different field events, ONE "Other Event", and the relay. Note: A competitor may not enter the same event at two different age groups.

  6. No competitor may represent more than one Sunday School / C.Y.C.

  7. A competitor may compete in their own, or a higher age group.

  8. The mile race is open to ALL ages, but there will be no points scored towards the trophies.

  9. In the Senior Long Jump competition, only two jumps per person will be allowed.

  10. Relays: The combined ages of the four members of the relay team must not exceed 60 years.

  11. POINTS: All finishers in every race will gain points towards the trophies as follows;

    1st: 4 points; 2nd: 3 points; 3rd: 2 points; all other finishers: 1 point

    The relay scores double points.

  12. All other track and field events will be concluded, BEFORE the relays take place, the final event being the mile race.

  13. Trophies will be awarded to the winning Junior (under 12), and the winning Senior (12 and over), teams who will retain them for 12 months.

  14. The first three places in each race will receive a badge.

  15. The winning boy and girl, under 21, in the mile race, will receive a trophy which the will retain for 12 months. All mile finishers will receive a badge.

  16. Each team must be accompanied by a leader who will be responsible for;

    1. Notifying the marshals of additions or cancellations from their entry.

    2. Ensuring competitors report to the marshals in good time for their event. PLEASE NOTE: track and field events run concurrently.

    3. Ensuring competitors are aware of the name under which their team is entered. Failure to do so could result in the incorrect allocation of points.

    4. Making sure the team is aware of these rules and other instructions.

  17. Amalgamation of ecclesias to form one team must be indicated on the entry form. Amalgamation will not be allowed on the day.

  18. All entries are to be recorded on the entry form and returned on, or preferably before, the date specified to the address on the entry form. Additional entries and substitutions will be at the discretion of the marshals.
